Areas of Expertise
Psychotherapy or Counseling is a form of "talk therapy" conducted at each session. Each session is a maximum of 50-min. in length and can be tailored to meet the needs of the client, if a lessor time is needed.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a theory that addresses the cognitive distortions or "thinking traps", client's may have and the links between your feelings and behaviors. The therapist and the client will work together to identify these negative thoughts and use different methodologies to create a different outcome.
Christian Counseling utilizes the word of God to reinforce the teachings and beliefs of Christianity, to change the cognitive and behavioral outcomes.
My approach, is to meet each client where they are, non-judge-mentally. This is done with compassion, grace, mercy and empathy towards each of my clients. Everyone has a story, a journey, a path and an experience, that is unique and different, whether dealing with depression, anxiety, or trauma. The goal is to acknowledge the past, while staying in the Here and Now.
I use various techniques and interventions, such as, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, bibliotherapy, psycho-education, behavior activation, problem-solving and exposure-based techniques, to assist with the needs of my clients.. Each client will adopt a set tools, as their own, to challenge, change, and support.
